The manual recommends checking the Tascam web site for updates to both the device drivers and the device's firmware, and this was the first thing I did. Windows XP and Vista are supported (although only the 32-bit versions so far), as is Mac OS X (Tiger and Leopard, on both Intel and Power PC architectures). Others in the field are the MOTU 896HD FireWire Soundcard w/ PreAmps which I have seen on ebay for about £300 s/h. 8 channels Is just big enough for a kit of 5 drums with 3 o/h. Which I would imagine is verity good but limits you only to 8 channels for an extra £150. I have been looking at alternatives, and the one that seems to pop up is a Presonus AudioBox 1818VSL which retails for about So I'll see how it works third time tonight.
The booting into 32bit mode works seemingly, tried twice with only it being recognised as an output then the second time it showed up as an input.
I mean how many people must have bought one of the units, upgrades to Lion and suddenly thought "wtf!?" about why it suddenly doesn't work.
It's quite bad of Tascam to not make a driver for Lion or at least make an announcement on the page of the US-1641, its just decency isn't it. I think you will be in the same situation as the US-1641. It is a shame, so I just have to save money to improve a latest interface, may be the US-1800, thanks for help me dudes.
